Our Ethos

We see health as something that’s lived — built through movement, awareness, environment, and consistent care over time.

Our work is grounded in evidence-based spine care and guided by a simple belief: resilience, adaptability, and physical capacity matter. They shape how we work, create, and stay engaged with the lives we care about.

At Island Chiropractic, we help people move out of pain, restore function, and build the capacity to meet the real demands of daily life — from work and family to recreation and active island living. Care is collaborative and patient-centered, integrating manual care, rehabilitation, ergonomics, and nutrition when appropriate, always with an eye toward long-term function rather than quick fixes.

We also pay attention to context — how and where people live and work — helping patients move more efficiently, recover more fully, and sustain their energy across the many roles they carry.

Dr. Nicholas Ouellette lives year-round on Nantucket and is deeply invested in the health of the island community. He serves on the board of the Nantucket Shellfish Association and as a Community Advisor for the Community Foundation for Nantucket. Outside the clinic, he trains, fishes, hunts, and spends time on the water — living the same physically demanding rhythms of life he helps his patients prepare for and sustain.
